Functional Nutrition Therapy
Offered by SAMANTHA WOLK, NUTRITIONAL THERAPY PRACTITIONER
As a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, Samantha Wolk is committed to empowering women to reclaim their vitality. After struggling with debilitating periods, digestive issues, and chronic dieting for decades, she knew she wanted to get to the root cause of her symptoms, heal her relationship with food, and take back her health for good.
Through her research, she found the Nutritional Therapy Association, and upon completing her transformative educational journey, she knew she needed to share this with other women who had similar experiences and weren’t getting the answers they deserved. It was at that time that she decided to pivot from her 10+ year career in corporate marketing and commit to her nutrition practice full-time.
In her practice, Sam specializes in supporting women in all stages of life, who are struggling with hormone and gut-related symptoms. Her focus extends to addressing fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum health as she recognizes the unique nutritional needs and challenges that women face during these critical life stages.
The Nutritional Therapy Association’s philosophy revolves around the idea that most of the modern world’s health concerns result from dysfunction and imbalances in the body’s physiological foundations, which include a nutrient-dense diet, sleep, stress, digestion, and blood sugar regulation. She uses these foundations, along with functional lab testing, as the pillars of healing, to create bio-individual nutrition, lifestyle, and supplement recommendations for her clients.
As an NTP, Sam’s true passion is helping women ditch the confusion around nutrition and what having a healthy lifestyle actually means so they can find sustainable solutions and enjoy their lives!

HTMA is a functional lab test that uses a small amount of hair (the first 1/2 inch of hair taken from either one or multiple spots on the head as close to the root as possible) to evaluate the hair's mineral and heavy metal content. This information is so valuable because it provides a snapshot of your body’s mineral status and toxic burden over the past 3-4 months, offering cumulative data about what the body is being exposed to and eliminating. We test the hair because it is one of the body’s natural elimination pathways for minerals and heavy metals.
Testing mineral status before, during, and after pregnancy can be incredibly helpful in ensuring both maternal and baby health. Before pregnancy, balanced minerals can optimize fertility, support hormonal balance, and help prepare the body for the physical demands of pregnancy. During pregnancy, certain minerals—like magnesium, calcium, and potassium—are critical for the baby’s growth and development, as well as the mother's overall health, including maintaining energy levels and reducing the risk of common concerns like leg cramps or high blood pressure. HTMA can help identify imbalances early, allowing for targeted nutritional support.
After giving birth, testing mineral status can support postpartum recovery. Pregnancy and breastfeeding place significant demands on the body, often leading to depleted mineral stores. Restoring balance can improve energy, mood, and overall health during the postpartum period. Additionally, identifying and addressing heavy metal exposure is particularly important, as it can impact both the mother and baby’s well-being.
This test empowers us to create a bio-individualized plan that supports your body’s unique needs at every stage of the motherhood journey.
